Using crowdsourcing for remote work on the Internet

by texasnews

Crowdsourcing – a fairly new phenomenon. Such remote work on the Internet is developing intensively.

The name and definition of crowdsourcing were first introduced in 2006 by Jeffon Hau and Mark Robinson.

It is necessary to distinguish crowdsourcing from widespread outsourcing – the transfer of non -core works to third -party organizations. The concepts are close, however, in the case of outsourcing, activity is carried out outside the competence of the organization by a professional (for a certain amount of money or a possible barter). If we talk about crowdsourcing, then there is no need to pay here (or it is minimal enough in its size).

The work is carried out by amateur professionals who are engaged in the creation of content, solve problems, carry out research and development. The basics of working on the Internet these specialists should know and understand well.

An important sign of crowdsourcing is expressed in the fact that all the work is divided into modules (small parts). Crowdsourcing today is called an innovation that is designed for the user. The manufacturing company relies on users when formulating needs, determining products that are aimed at satisfying needs. Craudsourcing work differs from the work of specialized organizations engaged in the development and release of open software.

Such activities belong to only one company selling the final result, and is managed by it. In other words, we are talking about the fact that this institution has been created and exists with the calculation of the possible wish of the consumer, who will share his ideas and developments for the only purpose for free (or for a low fee) in order to observe the embodiment of his own ideas. Among the main advantages of crowdsourcing, we can highlight the possibility of quick and easy location of professional personnel around the world. The assignment of the work of one professional employee to a group of people also has a certain superiority in terms of the speed of obtaining the result and its volume. Obtaining interesting information, for example, new frames for photographs or developed ideas, is possible only to attract an audience. Today, four types of crowdsourcing strategies are distinguished: crowdfinancing, crowding, crowds, “the wisdom of the crowd”.
