The number of registered Russian brands is growing

The number of trademarks registered in the Russian Federation over the past five years has grown by 46% – this conclusion has been taken by analysts from Thomson Compumark. This allowed Russia to take first place among the countries of the world on the pace of the emergence of new brands and overtake the rest of the major economies. The protection of the brands is carried out by the state. The growth trend is stable and does not depend on what the companies and enterprises are produced by those who wish to register: business concrete, microelectronics or fashionable clothes.

So, for example, in China, the number of registrations of new brands over the same five years has increased by only 3%, and in the USA – by 5%. But, as explained by Sergei Sharyukov, an independent expert on business and economics, the leadership of Russia, first of all, is due to its lag in the past. At the beginning of this century, there were very few people who wanted to arrange the brand, although the diaries of businessmen and managers overwhelmed the schedules of meetings and negotiations, and the active activities of the companies were simply seething. In the Western markets, everything has long been registered, they are filled with treason, the expert noted.

Last year alone, over 36 thousand trademarks were officially registered in the Russian Federation, which in itself indicates that the domestic market is becoming more attractive and civilized in terms of healthy competition.

Also, according to Sergey Sharyukov, in recent years, the legal literacy of managers and heads of Russian companies has significantly increased, who gradually came to the realization of the fact that the trading sign should have official protection, regardless of whether the company produces daily, underwear or computer technology. Entrepreneurs realized that registration is guaranteed to save them from claims by third parties and will allow us to function normally.

So far, our new brands have not managed to gain popularity among European consumers (with the exception of famous vodka brands or such as Gazprom, VTB), but most likely this is due to the fact that foreign markets are extremely saturated and not yet ready Accept new competitors.
