Texas police are investigating what may be the first fatal crash involving a Tesla Cybertruck in the United States, Fox 4 Beaumont reports.
“The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating what some say may be the nation’s first fatal crash involving a Tesla Cybertruck,” the channel said in a statement.
The channel reports that the driver of the electric vehicle died in the crash, during which he drove off the road and crashed into a pipe. The Tesla Cybertruck is the second most popular electric pickup truck on the market, behind the F-150 pickup from American automaker Ford. According to Tesla, owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, the Cybertruck costs between $57,000 and $96,000 on the American market.
Earlier, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Tesla is recalling more than two million vehicles produced since 2012, including the Cybertruck, due to the font size on warning indicators being too small.
